A quick reference for the questions we hear most often about approvals, delivery, off-grid systems, and what it is actually like to live small.

Regulations and logistics can feel opaque. These answers are a starting point only, your exact situation will depend on your site, council, and how you plan to live in the home.
Tiny homes are classed as caravans and typically do not need council development approval.
However, local councils can restrict how many tiny homes can be placed on a property or how long they can be occupied, so we strongly recommend checking your local council’s rules.
Tiny homes on wheels (THOWs) are usually not registered for regular road use because they are not driven like vehicles, but they are built to be registrable.
All our units sit on trailers that meet road-registration standards and can be relocated when required. Moving a THOW requires a day-pass and should be handled by professional haulers due to the size and weight.
You can park a tiny house on wheels in caravan parks (short- or long-term), on private rural land (with owner consent), or on a property with an existing dwelling as a secondary unit.
Rules vary by local council: check limits on duration, number allowed, setbacks, and how services (water, sewer, electrical) are handled.

Standard fitment includes a gas hot-water system; a composting toilet is available as an optional upgrade. Rainwater catchment, greywater treatment, and water filtration are available on request and priced after a site-specific review.
Tiny houses are an inherently sustainable choice. Their compact size reduces embodied materials and lifetime energy needs.
When built with durable, low-impact materials and efficient systems, they dramatically reduce resource use. Going fully off-grid with solar, water capture, and composting further shrinks your footprint and makes everyday living genuinely low-impact.
